Italy is a beautiful country with amazing architecture. As far as riding is concerned the best places are the far northern part which is the border area of Austria, the far south and central Appenine mountains. Another mountainous area is between Turin and France. When traveling to Greece it is cheaper and faster to take the fery from Venice, it leaves late at night so you save on two nights accomodation, the cost of the ferry is the same to Igomenitsa, Korfu or Patras. If traveling to Bari take into account thecost of the toll roads with its higher fuel prices or alternatively via the minor roads would cost you an extra day.
